Tempur-Pedic Pro Adapt Mattress Reviews

Tempur-Pedic Pro Adapt Mattress Reviews

The ProAdapt Series has four models – Soft, Medium, Firm, and a Medium Hybrid. These feature the SmartClimate Dual Cover System as the quilt layer. This system has the same high-density yarn as the Adapt beds, but the covers are removable. They're able to be cleaned easily, and thanks to the physical properties of the material, their cooling abilities won't be affected if you wash them.

Rounding out the Smart Climate Dual Cover System is a high stretch performance panel, similar to an Under Armour shirt, adding additional pressure point relief to the mattress. Last but not least, the Pro Adapt Series features the Tempur APR or Advanced Pressure Relief, which is a very pressure-relieving Tempurpedic foam. These beds are 12” tall.

Type of Construction

There are 3 all-foam models for people who enjoy the conforming feel of memory foam. The 4th model is a hybrid foam and innerspring combination, which provides the memory foam feel with a support that’s closer to a traditional innerspring mattress.

Tempur-Pedic's Pro Adapt Series - An Overview

Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt mattresses include their Tempur-APR material, which is a very advanced pressure-relieving foam. The ProAdapt Series also has a removable SmartClimate washable cover. This series is available in firm, medium, and soft comfort levels for the all-foam mattresses. There is also a medium-feeling hybrid model that’s a combination of springs and memory foam.

It won’t have the full sinking, conforming feel of the all-foam models. The support layers are designed for people who like the more responsive feel of an innerspring but want to experience the pressure-relieving benefits of memory foam.

Since this series has models available from soft to firm, there’s a good option for all sleeping positions; back sleepers, side sleepers, and stomach sleepers. This support provides cushioning that can help people who suffer from back pain.

Tempur-Pedic mattresses are sold in stores and online. Some limited models are sold directly from Tempur-Pedic. They’re heavy mattresses and usually delivered by a retailer’s delivery team. In-home delivery is free, and so is the removal of your old mattress.

More about Tempur-Pedic Brand

Tempur-Pedic created the memory foam mattress category here in the U.S. Founded in 1992, they grew and grew until they became a household name and got large enough to buy the Sealy Mattress Company. They’re now a public company called Tempur-Sealy and sell mattresses worldwide.

There are two important points of differentiation vs other foam mattresses. First, Tempur-Pedic actually designs and manufactures foam components and mattresses. This speaks to their degree of expertise (most foam mattress brands buy components from suppliers).

Secondly, Tempur-Pedic has always created premium products. As in any industry, there are companies that make cheaply-priced, lower-quality products. Then there are those that make higher-quality, higher-priced products. Tempur-Pedic has always made high-quality mattresses using premium materials and manufacturing standards. The success of their mattresses and reputation for quality propelled their company to be the largest in the world.

Conclusion

Tempur-Pedic Pro Adapt mattresses are available in different comforts so there’s one available for every type of sleeper (back, side, or stomach sleeper); they’re also available as a medium hybrid (memory foam/innerspring).

The mattresses use Tempur-Pedic’s innovative Tempur-APR material, so it provides slightly better conforming and support vs their Adapt series that uses their older foams. Whether it’s worth the extra money is up to you. If you can splurge for an incrementally better bed, you can make that choice, but it’s perfectly fine choosing the lower-priced Adapt mattress to save some money too.

There are much cheaper mattresses from other companies on the market. But Tempur-Pedic is the leader in the industry and they’ve been making well-regarded mattresses for many years. So if you are able to afford these beds, they make a good choice for a new mattress.
